Full course description

Welcome to the first course in the "Research for Community Partners" Program, designed with community stakeholders in mind.  When academic researchers are studying a topic in the community, it is critical that community members be involved in the work in order to have an accurate understanding of the topic and find meaningful solutions.  This program was developed for community leaders, health ministry practitioners, health professionals, church leaders, non-profit workers, and others who desire to learn more about the research process and to be effective research teammates.  The program is taught from a Christian Biblical worldview and integrates themes of teamwork and community advocacy throughout the lessons.

The full program has 20 lessons.  It is organized into four sets of five modules as follows: Community Research Basics (1-5), Community Research Design (6-10), Conducting Community Research (11-15), and Analyzing & Sharing Findings (16-20).  This course covers the first five modules, Community Research Basics.

In this course format, you will be asked to watch a video lecture, read a relevant resource, and then test your knowledge through a quiz as part of each module.  You will need to score at least 70% on each quiz, and you are encouraged to review any questions you missed to make sure you understand the content.  At the conclusion of the course, you will need to complete a final assessment that consists of 20 multiple choice questions and score at least an 80% to successfully complete the course requirements.
